 Quote from his speech:

The kaffar, the disbelievers, the atheists who remain deaf and stubborn to Islam, the rational message of the Quran; they are described in the Quran as, quote, a people of no intelligence, Allah describes them as; not of no morality, not as people of no belief — people of no intelligence — because theyre incapable of the intellectual effort it requires to shake off those blind prejudices, to shake off those easy assumptions about this world, about the existence of God. In this respect, the Quran describes the atheists as cattle, as cattle of those who grow the crops and do not stop and wonder about this world.”

i think it might be taken out of context. Statistically atheist have higher IQs that believers.

  • TheDude

I wonder if there are alien civilizations who have been observing us from afar and wonder, “Eek! What is in the water on that planet?!” I certainly wonder some times…

  • Hardi

Typical Muslim , a sheep in the presence of atheists and a barking dog with his herd.

What a fucking handjob Mehdi Hasan is. Not the most intellectual comment on this video, I’ll grant — made in face-desking despair, but without the sheer *venom* you can hear in Hasan’s voice as his own veneer of intellectuality falls apart, and his hatred pokes through into the sneering derision of those who have no evidence to marshal to make their point. Wanker.

Whoah! There seems to have been a typo. If you replace “Athiest” for “Faithful”, and “Science” for “Quran” in his speach, THEN it makes sense.

    Oh the irony.

  • Doug

Hey, at least we don’t send confused teenagers into weddings to blow themselves up and kill innocent women and children. But yeah, atheists are the immoral ones.

  • kale

Really do hope he loses his position at huff post for this bigoted filth.

What an absolutely ridiculous, contrived, illogical, even moronic thing to say. “..cattle of those who grow the crops and do not stop and wonder about this world.” The very reason people become atheists in the first place, is that we constantly stop and wonder about this world. Anyone with an ounce of skepticism or logic about them will more than likely conclude that religion is hogwash. This is the kind of garbage that makes me lose faith in humanity.
